AFFORDABLE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT

The Neighborhood Corporation is committed to creating decent rental housing and homeownership opportunities that are affordable to individuals and families in Greater Taunton.

BARON LOFTS (click to see current design)

We are engaged in a transformative redevelopment of the vacant building formerly known as the Baron Brothers Furniture Store in the middle of downtown Taunton. This development is in partnership with Taunton Business Improvement District (BID).  The project will create 6 loft-style one bedroom units with an art studio/community art gallery and non-profit office on the first floor.

UNION BLOCK (click to see future design)

In 2009, the Downtown Taunton Study (funded by a Gateway Plus Action Grant)  produced a future mixed use development for the historic Union Block buildings located at 15-25 Main Street in the heart of the Taunton Green area and Central Business District. The goal of this development is to reconstruct the building to accommodate 36 new residential units with commercial space on the street level.

THE VILLAGE TOWNHOUSES (pictured above)

In 2008, we created the Village Townhouses (pictured at left), reclaiming a formerly blighted property in Taunton's historic Weir Village. These five beautiful, new condominiums have helped several local families achieve their dream of homeownership.

The Affordable Housing Initiatives are supported in part by grants from Bridgewater Savings Bank, Citizens Bank Charitable Foundation, Eastern Bank, Greater Attleboro/Taunton HOME  Consortium, Webster Bank and Sovereign Bank Charitable Foundation.

SHOE SHOP PLACE (click to see future design)

We are developing a blighted factory in the middle of an established residential neighborhood into a 25 unit affordable housing complex. This property will be a first for TNC to develop under our new geographic focus of Greater Taunton. The property is located in center of Middleborough MA.

ROBERTSON ON THE RIVER (click to see view)

This mixed-use, historic mill redevelopment along the scenic Taunton River opened in 2005. Robertson on the River boasts 64 affordable, loft-style apartments and 18,000 SF of business space. For apartment inquiries, please call 508-823-2666 or visit Peabody Properties website.
